Last Wednesday Gina and I had a great night out in London at the Amara Interior Blog awards.

The IBAs are the industry’s celebration of inspirational blogs and bloggers throughout the world of interior design. Held at the Design Museum in London, the awards are hosted by interior design store Amara Living and each category is sponsored by a well known brand in the interior design industry.
Back in July we were thrilled to find out that this little blog was nominated in the best Luxury Interior Design category sponsored by Roberto Cavalli. Then in August we were absolutely delighted when we found out that we’d made the shortlist to the final six in our category.
Since then we had our fingers crossed and there was nothing we could do but wait nervously until the judging day passed by in September and we counted down to the awards night in October. The judging panel was headed up by Sam Hood Creative Director and Head Buyer at Amara joined by respected journalists, bloggers and TV personalities from the interior design world.

On the night we were greeted at the Design Museum with cocktails and canapés and had a chance to mingle with the other guests before making our way to the auditorium for the presentation ceremony. There was even a chance to win a gorgeous sofa from headline sponsors Sofa Workshop just for the shortlisted bloggers on the night.
The awards were hosted by our favourite interior design duo Daniel Hopwood and Sophie Robinson. Gina First met Daniel and Sophie as judges at Grand Designs Live in 2016. Best known for hosting the Great Interior Design Challenge, it was great to see them together again hosting the awards.

So how did it go...
Well the competition was tough to say the least and we were honoured to be have made it into the final six of our category.
The Luxury Interior Design Blog winner is announced
Unfortunately we didn’t win. The prize the for Luxury Interior Design blog this year went to Design Chic, a mother and daughter team based in North Carolina, USA. Sadly they didn’t make it out to the awards as we would have loved to meet them.
After the awards ceremony there was more time to mingle with the hosts and guests. A great opportunity to meet lots of other lovely bloggers and guests representing the sponsoring brands before being treated to a fabulous goodie bag filled with gorgeous gifts from our host sponsors.
All in all a great night out which we really enjoyed and we were thrilled to have been invited to.
