It's competition time again and this week I'm really pleased to say we are collaborating with the Cotswold Trading Company to give away not just one but two of their lovely rugs.

Cotswold Trading Company is a great place for rugs as they offer a fabulous selection from a variety of brands. I've found a great range of door mats from Garden Trading (another brand we love), Fallen Fruits and Artsy Doormats. In addition it's been great to discover brands such as vinyl flooring specialists, Beija Floor, Welsh company The Braided Rug Company and American brand Dash & Albert.
Discovering such a nicely curated range of rugs and runners is really helpful in creating a connected design scheme when sourcing for clients. Fundamental elements of the design like zoning are brought together with key pieces of furniture, styling items and rugs.
Adding well designed rugs to your home introduces style, colour and texture into a room. In addition to this they protect floors and add an element softness and warmth to a room.
There's lots of benefits to adding rugs to your home. Firstly they are significantly cheaper than replacing a carpet. They can be used in addition to carpets or on hard floor surfaces such as floorboards and tiles where they will add an additional layer of protection to your expensive and hard to replace flooring.
Rugs can also add character with colour and pattern that maybe overwhelming on a wall to wall carpet but perfect for zoning and adding a focus to a room.

Protect high traffic areas such as hallway or kitchen floors with runners
Under dining tables, coffee tables, bed and in front of fireplaces for zoning and creating focus in a room
For colour use contrasting or complementary coloured or patterned rugs to tie in with the colour scheme in your room
Beside your bed for a comfort under your feet in the morning!
